Official Guidelines for the Arbor School Cabinet Elections

Candidate Eligibility

  • Filing Deadline: All nomination files and applications must be submitted by July 4, 2026 at 11:59:59 PM.
  • Each student can participate/nominate themselves for any two of the given cabinet positions (Instruction #1).
  • Eligibility criteria breakdown:
    • Grades XI & XII: Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captain, Cultural Captain, Discipline Captain.
    • Grade X: Deputy Head Boy, Deputy Head Girl.
    • Grades IX & X: Vice Sports Captain, Deputy Cultural Captain, Deputy Discipline Captain, House Captain.
    • Grade VIII: House Vice Captain, House Prefects.
  • The Election Committee finalizes the candidates based on: attendance records, academic GPA averages, behavioral standings, and other co-curricular achievements (Instruction #2).
  • Minimum academic GPA of 70% (B Grade) and attendance record of 75% is mandatory.

Campaign Regulations

  • Campaigning is strictly prohibited before the Election Committee releases the finalized nominees list.
  • Once finalized, candidate campaigning will be held for exactly two to four days prior to the elections (Instruction #3).
  • Negative campaigning, defamation, or direct personal attacks against rival candidates will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • All flyer designs and canvas posters must be vetted and signed off by the House Coordinator before placement.

Voting Protocol

  • Elections are conducted electronically in the computer laboratories on Polls Day.
  • Every eligible student elector casts their vote secretly.
  • Proxy voting or login tampering is a severe violation resulting in suspensions.
  • Announcements: Election results will be officially announced on the next day of the elections (Instruction #4).

Code of Conduct

  • Cabinet officers must wear official badges and uniforms correctly at all times.
  • Officers must maintain exemplary conduct, and failure in duties will result in warnings and impeachment.
